YOUR DIVE STAYS YOURS
Privacy policy
Last reviewed:
A small game that keeps your play on your device.
Dinky Diver is designed to work without an account, advertising or developer-run gameplay servers. This policy explains how the app handles your information, what happens when you choose to share a dive, and how this website and support requests are handled.
Playing the game
Dinky Diver does not send your gameplay history, scores or settings to us. The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. You do not need to create an account to play.
Saved information on your device
The app saves information such as your best distances, recent runs, logbook progress, selected diver style, preferences and tutorial/arrival state locally on your device. Dinky Diver does not provide its own cloud-sync service. Your device backups may include app data according to your Apple settings; that is separate from an app-operated sync service.
Sharing a dive or route
Sharing is optional and starts only when you choose it. A scorecard is prepared on your device and can include your distance, difficulty, descent, selected diver appearance and route code. The route code describes the route seed, difficulty and game-rule version; it does not contain your name, account or device identifier.
When you use Apple’s share sheet, the app or service you choose receives the content you share and handles it under its own privacy practices. Dinky Diver does not upload scorecards to a sharing server operated by us. The app reads a route from the clipboard only through an explicit paste action; it does not monitor your clipboard.
Shared route links point to dinkydiver.app. Opening one can load a route page on this website. The route code forms part of the URL, so it may appear in browser history and the hosting provider’s request logs. It describes a game route, not a private access token or a verified score. The website copies a route code to your clipboard only when you choose Copy route code.
Visiting this website
We do not add advertising trackers or visitor analytics to this website. Site code does not set cookies or use browser storage.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical request information to deliver and protect the site. That information may include your IP address, requested URL, browser information and security-related logs. Cloudflare’s security features may set cookies when needed to protect the site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its practices.
Apple services and purchases
Apple handles App Store downloads and payments; we do not receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide app diagnostics or beta feedback according to your settings and the Apple services you use. Those services are governed by Apple’s privacy policies. Dinky Diver does not include a separate third-party crash-reporting service.
Contacting support
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever information you include so we can respond. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details or unrelated personal information.
Steven Townsend reads and responds to support requests using iCloud Mail and Apple Mail. Correspondence is stored in iCloud and may also be stored on devices using Apple Mail. A Smart Mailbox is planned to organize support messages; messages are not automatically forwarded to another mailbox or service.
Correspondence is kept as needed to handle support, with no fixed deletion schedule. You can request deletion by contacting the support address; Steven will review your request.
Support messages are not automatically processed by AI tools. Steven may manually share correspondence, including names, email addresses or other identifying information, with AI providers to help handle a request. Those providers process the information under their own practices. Please avoid including sensitive or unnecessary personal information.
Your choices and deletion
You can choose whether to share a scorecard or route and which service receives it. Settings offers controls for the app’s local features, and the logbook has its own reset action. That reset removes badges and totals while preserving best distances, recent runs and diver choices.
Removing the app removes its local app-container data; device backups and copies you previously shared are managed separately through Apple or the receiving service. Offloading an app is not the same as deleting its data. We cannot delete copies held by someone you shared with.
Children’s privacy
The app does not ask players to submit personal information or create accounts, and it has no advertising or in-app purchases. If a child contacts support, please avoid including unnecessary personal information.
Changes and contact
We will update this page and its date if these practices change.
